The Western Slope's coffee story
Montrose has the long record. Looney Bean has roasted there since 1992.
Camp 4 Coffee began as a winter coffee cart outside the Mt. Crested Butte bus stop, where early morning temperatures can reach 40 below. It grew into two shops and a roastery.
The Slope's businesses buy from each other. Paonia's Big B's organic juices are on the counter at both Camp 4 shops, and Camp 4's site promotes local causes such as a High Country Conservation Advocates bike tour.
