Dragonfly Stache is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Carbondale. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Cheauxchi, who lives in Carbondale, runs the roastery. The FAQ lists coffee, dragonflies and fixing things among Cheauxchi's loves. Every order becomes its own batch of 22 to 24 ounces of green coffee, roasted to the profile the buyer chooses, which ends up as roughly 18 to 20 ounces of beans. Bags are bigger than the usual 12 ounces because that is how much the small roaster holds, which keeps finished coffee from sitting on a shelf.
Only organic single origin specialty coffees are offered, sometimes with a rare lot. Pricing is the green coffee's market value per pound plus a flat $15 roasting fee. When picking beans, the owner looks for farms that offer workers health care and child care and that protect local water and soil.
