A Colorado club that sends a 12 oz bag from a featured Colorado roaster, and says the featured roaster changes each month. Each bag comes with a drink card for that roaster's cafe and merchandise from the roaster's store. Buying straight from a roaster's own subscription is the most direct way to support one Colorado business: the whole price goes to the people who roast your coffee, in their town. These 19 roasters list a subscription or a gift subscription on their own sites. We list them as local favorites; a listing does not mean the roaster is part of the club. Ampersand Coffee Roasters, Boulder
Sells gift subscriptions of 3, 6 or 12 months. Its whole lineup is Fair Trade and organic, including a Mountain Water Process decaf, and it roasts medium and dark coffees in the Gunbarrel area.
Bindle Coffee, Fort Collins
Runs three subscriptions: Roaster's Choice, Filter and Espresso. Its shop says coffee is roasted and shipped Monday to Wednesday. The espresso plan fits its Sidekick Espresso, a three-origin blend.
Boxcar Coffee Roasters, Boulder
Sells special releases and subscriptions from its Boulder roastery. Stella is the house espresso, and the single origins on the check date were three Ethiopias, a Kenya and an El Salvador.
Camp 4 Coffee, Crested Butte
Sells subscriptions and a sample pack. Its coffee comes in 1 lb bags ground to order, from light to French roast, with the Sledgehammer house blend at the center.
Color Coffee Roasters, Eagle
Runs a rotating subscription and sells single origin and Latin American variety packs. Its Artist Reserve line carries experimental lots.
Conscious Coffees, Boulder
Sells sample packs and subscriptions. Every coffee is organic, and the company is a certified B Corporation buying from some of the same cooperatives for more than twenty years.
Corvus Coffee Roasters, Denver
Lists a coffee subscription alongside its reserve line and experimental fermentation lots. It prints the story of the farm on its single origin bags.
Dark Heart Coffee, Loveland
Offers blend, espresso, decaf and single origin subscriptions, with up to 15 percent off. Its decaf is a sugarcane decaf from Colombia, roasted for drip and for espresso.
Durango Coffee Company, Durango
Lists subscriptions. It has roasted since 1984 and buys direct trade lots from farms such as Las Lajas in Costa Rica.
Huckleberry Roasters, Denver
