Roastiva is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Grand Junction. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Coffee is roasted to order and brought to the door in reusable glass jars or compostable bags anywhere in the Grand Valley. Every blend is certified organic and fair trade, and the company says at least 20 percent of the price reaches the grower. Five percent of profit goes to a local charity chosen each year by a vote of coffee club members.
A June 2026 post describes a week Josiah spent in Peru with Cafe Femenino, a group that backs women coffee producers, visiting farms, cupping and sitting in on its annual meeting. The Sweet and Smooth blend pairs a Mexico Chiapas with a Guatemala Huehuetenango, and the company once sold each on its own, roasted the same way, to show how origin shapes flavor. The team page lists Josiah Abshear, Jonathan Abshear, Kellen McClure and Chaila Quinn, and orders are placed through the company's own app.

Orders are brought to the front door free of charge anywhere in the Grand Valley, with no delivery or service fees. For its fifth year in 2025, customers wrote in nominations and the giveback went to 16 groups, among them District 51 Foundation, Roice-Hurst Humane Society and Mesa County Search and Rescue.
