What Fourteener Coffee Club is
Fourteener Coffee Club is a Colorado coffee subscription. Every box brings a 12 oz bag from a different independent Colorado roaster, roasted to order and shipped in their own bag. First bag free, you pay $7.99 shipping. Then $16.99 a bag, every 2 or 4 weeks, and you can skip or cancel online.
We name the boxes after the fourteeners because that is how a lot of Coloradans keep score: Pikes Peak first, Mount Elbert twelfth, one summit at a time.
Why Colorado
Because the roasters are here, and there are a lot of them. The Roast Local directory lists 156 independent roasters in the state. They are not all in Denver, either. Peregrine roasts in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, with its cafe on Main Street in Westcliffe. Durango Coffee Company has sold roasted coffee since 1984, starting from a home in nearby Hermosa. Camp 4 hand roasts in Crested Butte South, Color roasts in Eagle, Dark Heart in downtown Loveland and Bindle in Fort Collins.
Most of us know the roasters near home and not many more. The club is a way to meet the rest without a road trip, and to pay each of them for the coffee.
Who picks the coffee
Joe McRose picks the coffees and writes the roaster pages on this site. Each profile is built from the roaster's own published pages and other public sources, dated when it was checked, and sent to the roaster to look over once we are in touch. The sourcing page explains how roasters are chosen.

Why we care where the money goes
When you buy from a Colorado roaster, the money pays people here: a roaster in Englewood, a barista on Pearl Street in Boulder, the Colorado farms that sell pork and vegetables to a Colorado Springs cafe kitchen. It keeps small roasters open in towns that would miss them. That is the reason this club exists. Read why local roasters matter.
