Their story
In October 2003 the Welsh family's motor home broke down in Grand Junction on the way to a balloon festival, and they bought the old Rocky Mountain Roasted Coffees location. The family had roasted in Oregon before, and after about eighteen months they moved to a bigger space with a new Diedrich roaster. The home page says it has roasted coffee to order for over 25 years and also sells green beans for home roasting.
Owning a roastery was not the plan; the family says it bought the business early in a vacation and spent the rest of the trip wondering what it had done. The storefront sells organic and Fair Trade coffees, single origins and blends, with each order roasted after it comes in. The name ties to the family's stated mission of running the business so it leaves a lasting legacy.
