Bonfire Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Glenwood Springs. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The roaster is based in the Roaring Fork Valley and roasts small batches for retail, wholesale, office and private label customers. It runs what it calls the only coffee lab on the Western Slope, used for cupping, quality checks and barista classes. The company has opened a new roastery in Glenwood Springs, and its cafe remains on Main Street in Carbondale.
The roastery page credits Charlie as founder and roaster, and says he has been learning coffee since he began reworking espresso programs in the late 1990s. The new Glenwood Springs roastery nearly doubles the old space and runs a Loring smart roaster, which the company says cuts emissions by up to 80 percent. Its Rwanda coffee comes from the Huye Mountain station shown in the 2014 documentary A Film About Coffee, which the team has used in staff training.
Its office coffee program pairs weekly bean delivery with brewing equipment, water filter upkeep and machine maintenance for workplaces.
