How our Colorado coffee subscription works

How does a coffee subscription work?

A coffee subscription sends fresh coffee to your door on a schedule. Ours sends a 12 oz bag from a different independent Colorado roaster in every box, roasted to order and shipped in the roaster's own bag. First bag free, you pay $7.99 shipping. Then $16.99 a bag, every 2 or 4 weeks, and you can skip, pause or cancel online.

You choose the roast and the style. We choose the roaster, and your ratings shape each pick.

The club on one table

The four promises hold for every box:

From three questions to a bag on your doorstep

1. Set your coffee in the plan builder: roast level, style, whole bean or ground, one bag or two, every 2 or 4 weeks. Not sure? Answer three questions (how you drink it, which flavors sound best, caffeine or not) and the quiz sets the roast.
2. Check out. Your first bag is free and you pay $7.99 shipping on that box.
3. We send your order to a Colorado roaster you have not had from us before, with your roast, style and grind.
4. The roaster roasts your bag to order and ships it from their roastery within 3 days.
5. You drink it and rate it. We pick the next roaster's coffee with your rating in mind.
6. Three days before the next box, a reminder email arrives with links to skip that box, pause, change your card or cancel.

Two people, two tastes? Pick two bags and give the second one its own roast and style. A dark roast for one of you and a decaf for the evening works fine.

Every box is named for a fourteener

The first twelve boxes climb Colorado's fourteeners, each higher than the last, so the name on your order tells you where you are on the climb. Everyone starts at Pikes Peak.

Who roasts your coffee

Independent roasters who roast in Colorado and were open for business when we last checked. The Roast Local directory lists 156 of them in the state, so the pool runs deep. We keep a page on each roaster we follow, from Novo's roastery on Larimer Street in Denver to Peregrine's cafe on Main Street in Westcliffe. A listing does not mean the roaster is part of the club. Every bag pays a Colorado roaster for coffee roasted here. That money pays wages at a roastery in this state, not a plant out of state, and a bag roasted in Colorado has a shorter trip to a Colorado cup. More on that in why local roasters matter.

What arrives in the box

A 12 oz bag in the roaster's own packaging, shipped straight from their roastery, with our packing slip inside. The slip names the roaster and their shop, tells a little of their story and lists the tasting notes, so you know what to look for in the first cup. The same details sit on the roaster's page here and in your emails.

If a bag disappoints, tell us and we send a different coffee at no charge.
