Aurora's coffee roasters

A farmers market roaster, a handful of small roasteries and the state's first coffee show.

Coffee in Aurora

Aurora coffee roasters are small and spread out, and the city has a bigger place in Colorado coffee than their size suggests. The first Colorado Coffee Show was held here in September 2024, and Legends Coffee started at the Southlands Farmers Market with the aim of bringing specialty coffee to Aurora. Our club ships coffee from a different independent Colorado roaster in each box.

Aurora's coffee story

On September 14, 2024, the Gaylord Rockies Convention Center in Aurora hosted the inaugural Colorado Coffee Show, a day of workshops and competitions for the state's roasters and cafes.

Legends Coffee began a decade earlier and much smaller. It started at the Southlands Farmers Market in 2014, and its founders' stated aim was to bring specialty coffee to Aurora.

Aurora also shows how directory listings can mislead. Roast Local files DAZBOG Coffee under Aurora, but DAZBOG's own About page says it roasts daily at 1090 Yuma Street in Denver. Brothers Tony and Leo Yuffa opened it in 1996.

The US Census Bureau's July 2025 estimate puts Aurora at 410,053 people, one of the largest cities in the state. A bag bought from Legends or Jubilee keeps that money with a roaster on this side of the metro, paying people who live here. Our case for it is on why local roasters matter.

  • Queen City Collective Coffee runs a cafe in Aurora at the Broadleaf Apartments, 1380 North Uvalda Street. It buys through direct relationships with producers and visits farms during harvest.
  • Pablo's Coffee roasts at its East Colfax headquarters, where a cafe in front of the roastery is open daily from 7am to 2pm. Pablo's says it routinely pays 50 to 100 percent more per pound for green coffee than the average Fair Trade rate.
