Glissade Coffee Company is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Aurora. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Sean Harwin's first coffee job came in 2010, pulling shots as a barista in Colorado. A later move to Seattle led to a position with a specialty roasting company. He worked his way through almost every role at the Seattle roastery, from putting labels on bags to running the roaster, and later photographed the estates it bought from. Daily Coffee News reported that before opening Glissade, Harwin worked as a consultant helping cafes with roast profiles, branding and design.
The name recalls a July 2017 climb of Mount Adams in Washington. Harwin proposed to his wife Laura there, and the pair slid down the snow on the descent the next day. Harwin and Laura moved to Denver in September 2021 and settled in the Central Park neighborhood, a short walk from what became the cafe, Westword reported.
What they roast
House blends include Chute Espresso Blend and South Face Cold Brew. Single origins on the list when we checked: Guji, Ethiopia and Fazenda do Canaan. Espresso: Chute Espresso Blend. Decaf: Downslope Decaf. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.

Why buying from Glissade Coffee Company matters here
After a long rebuild of its 3,200 square foot space, the roastery cafe opened in March 2023. Half the seats have power outlets and half do not, to nudge people toward conversation. Its building also houses a gym, a children's theater, a bike shop and the ceramics maker that made the cafe's tile, according to Westword. Roasting is done on a Diedrich IR 12, with a separate sample roaster for testing green coffee. The shop says it roasts once or twice a week depending on orders.
