Mountain Dweller Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Frisco, founded in 2017. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Every bag is roasted on site in Frisco in small batches and to order. The coffee bar operates inside Outer Range Brewing Co., where customers can also order ahead. Josh and Beth Johnson founded the roastery in 2017; their love of cafes began during college days in Milwaukee, and they started out roasting at home in their garage.
The shop labels its Ascend espresso blend, False Summit decaf and Vertigo Kenya with a Best of Summit first place for coffee roaster, a local award it lists on those pages. Vertigo is a washed Kenya AA from the Kiunyu station in Kirinyaga, where more than 3,000 small farmers deliver cherries. Fieldwork comes from Diego Giron Gomez, the second generation to run the El Rincon farm in Chiapas, Mexico.

Roast levels run light and medium. Single origins on the list when we checked: Rambler, Colombia, Vertigo, Kenya AA and Fieldwork, Chiapas Mexico. Espresso: Ascend Blend. Decaf: False Summit, washed Peru. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.
