Golden Garage Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Golden, founded in 2016. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
In 2016, Krista began reading about home roasting, and Jacob bought her green beans to try; her first batch was roasted in a cast iron pan in the oven. She moved on to a small air roaster on a deck in Golden, roasted in the garage for years, and now works out of a small food trailer. Batches stay tiny, one to two pounds at a time, so each roast can be watched and heard as it develops.
Those first oven roasts took place in the couple's small rental house in Denver, and the smoke and the struggle to keep beans moving pushed Krista to keep improving. After the air roaster she switched to a drum roaster, though still a small one, and for years she tested batches on neighbors, family and friends.

Roast levels run medium, medium plus and dark. Single origins on the list when we checked: Brazilian Medium Roast, Costa Rican Dark Roast, Colombian Dark Roast, Colombian Medium Roast and Panamanian Medium Plus Roast. Espresso Roast.
