Erie Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Frederick. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The small family business moved from Erie to Frederick and kept its original name, the site notes. Coffee is roasted to order each week, and the FAQ says orders usually take two to three days to roast, pack and ship. The roaster works to promote Puerto Rican coffee on the mainland and has sold a Sandra Farms natural lot from the island.
The company takes back its bag clips, cold brew bottles and jars to wash and reuse, and gives spent grounds, hops and roaster chaff to gardeners and composters. Hotels and shops can order private label coffee in sizes from compostable 1.2 ounce bags to 5 pound bags, along with recyclable single serve pods. Alongside coffee the roaster sells loose leaf teas, such as a Japanese genmaicha with toasted rice and a caffeine free sleep blend, sold by the ounce.

House blends include Autumnal Blend and Coterie Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Costa Rica Las Lajas and Brazil Natural Serra Negra. Offerings change with the seasons, so this is what their own pages listed on 2026-09-28.

Why buying from Erie Coffee Roasters matters here
Its coffee is served at partners across the Front Range, including Chautauqua Cottages in Boulder and The Source Hotel in Denver. At the ECR Cafe the sandwiches are made in house on focaccia from NoCo Sourdough, and the case also carries food from other Front Range businesses. It roasts a set of coffees for UNC, including the Bear Blend of Brazil and Guatemala, and the Sandra Farms lot from Puerto Rico is described as a 2022 Golden Bean bronze winner.
