Seedhouse Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Steamboat Springs. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.

Their story

Gates Gooding started the roaster. Two Steamboat families, the Stauffers and the Lovinses, now own and run it in downtown Steamboat Springs. The roasting style is kept light enough to show each coffee's own character, and a share of profits goes to outside causes. The roaster works with certified organic farms and says it trials several roast profiles before choosing one for each coffee.

Its Peru Chirinos comes from a Cajamarca cooperative dating to 1968, with more than 800 farmers, that also funds training, beekeeping, avocado growing and scholarships. A Gesha from Ronal Carranza Montenegro in Peru's Amazonas region is natural processed after a 120 hour fermentation.

House blends include Summer Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Peru Chirinos, Lonya Grande Gesha, Ethiopia Limmu, Mexico Chiapas and Honduras La Avi. An espresso is on the list.
