Pikes Perk Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Colorado Springs. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Andrew and Lauren Morton became owners in 2025. Lauren grew up in Colorado, and Andrew joined the Air Force in 2002, was stationed in Colorado in 2005 and served in Afghanistan. In 2013 the couple moved to Alaska on a whim. Lauren managed an ambulance service and ran an animal rescue there, while Andrew ran a live-fire range for the Army. They came back to Colorado in 2024, bought the company the next year and chose to keep the roast profiles used for the past two decades.
Pikes Perk has roasted in Colorado Springs for over 25 years. It buys fair trade single origin arabica and uses air roasting followed by water cooling. Single origins are roasted in small batches each Tuesday, and Andrew handles the roasting.

House blends include Devil's Playground Espresso Blend and Balanced Rock Breakfast Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Organic Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Organic Colombian Excelso and Colombian Italian Roast. Espresso: Devil's Playground Espresso Blend.
