Their story

Veterans and women own and run the company, and many of the owners are related as spouses, siblings and daughters. Coffee is roasted slowly at high altitude in the Rockies, which the company says keeps bitterness out of the cup. Celtic heritage shapes the brand, from Scottish dialect on the about page to a two word motto urging drinkers to travel far.

According to the company's origin story, eight friends came together in 2022 after finding they liked the results of roasting coffee at altitude in Estes Park. The about page places the roasting within view of Longs Peak, which rises to 14,259 feet in Rocky Mountain National Park. Most of its coffee is bought through the Volcafe Way program, which trains growers in farming and business, and the lineup usually includes one or two Fair Trade or organic lots.
