Colorado Coffee Company is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Loveland, founded in 1994. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Hannah Gleditsch bought the business in November 2024 after nearly eight years in law enforcement. Beans are ethically traded and roasted in house, with origins changing by season, and the coffee also goes to restaurants and shops around the state. Mike and Carol Thorsrud opened Colorado Coffee in 1994 in the Foothills Fashion Mall in Fort Collins. The Loveland shop on Boyd Lake Avenue came later, shortly before the mall store closed.
A 2019 Reporter-Herald profile said Stacy Kliner, a Loveland native who had run a mobile coffee business and a Longmont cafe, bought the company after asking to rent Thorsrud's roaster. That same year Kliner leased about 2,000 square feet on the west side of The Foundry plaza in downtown Loveland, the space that became the company's Foundry cafe. Under the current owner, one of six stated core values is that homemade is best, which covers small batch roasting as well as pastries made from scratch.
