Brewing Market Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Boulder, founded in 1977. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Brewing Market began in 1977 as a small vendor booth inside a Pearl Street building. The same family has owned and managed it for its whole history. Coffee has been roasted in-house since the first year. The company calls itself Boulder's original coffee roaster and now runs five shops alongside its roastery. Its chai is made from scratch in the shops by a staff member it calls the Chai Master, and the tea list covers more than 50 teas and herbal blends.
The lineup runs to over 40 coffees, split among single origins, house blends and flavored coffees. Every decaf it sells is decaffeinated with water rather than chemical solvents.
What they roast
House blends include Boulder Blend, American Roast and French Roast. Single origins on the list when we checked: Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, Aged Sumatra Mandheling, Guatemala Huehuetenango ASOBAGRI, Colombia Excelso and Costa Rica Tarrazu La Pastora.
