Bean Cycle Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Fort Collins, founded in 2004. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The founders stayed in Fort Collins after graduating from CSU and started the family business in 2004. The coffee house shares its Old Town space with Half Crown Creative, an art space, and Makerfolk, a shop for handmade goods. Roasting happens at a separate site on Racquette Drive, which also handles wholesale accounts.
The owners describe the business as built to be ecologically, socially and economically responsible, with a focus on the craft of roasting. On the wholesale side it also sells equipment from brands such as La Marzocco, Mazzer, Fetco, Baratza, Fellow and Mahlkonig to help businesses set up a coffee bar.

The Old Town cafe is open daily, until 9 on Fridays and Saturdays; the roastery on Racquette Drive is closed to the public.

Members of the cafe's coffee club get ten percent off every bag of beans, and the space also books music and art exhibits. Half Crown Creative, which shares the building, runs an artist residency, an exhibition space and a classroom for local makers. The patio hosts all ages punk and alt-rock shows booked by Perfect Angel Booking for a suggested donation, and it has held art markets for local causes.
