Sacred Beans Coffee is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Denver. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
The cafe page describes the shop as a place where careful roasting sits next to a neighborhood hangout, with espresso drinks, pour overs and pastries. Events such as board game nights, vinyl nights, workshops and coffee tastings are held at the cafe. The coffee menu is split in two: limited micro lots with unusual processing, and a set of staple coffees poured at Locus, the name the company uses for its cafe.
Tonatiuh, named after the Aztec sun god, is a Yellow Pacamara that spends 240 hours in carbonic maceration before it is roasted light. One recent micro lot, Kasumi, is a Java variety grown by the Lasso family at Finca El Diviso in Huila, Colombia, and processed as an anaerobic washed coffee. The Aurora decaf is fermented anaerobically for 72 hours and then decaffeinated by a natural method, and it is roasted to a medium level.

Roast levels run light and medium-light. House blends include The Rexi Blend. Single origins on the list when we checked: Bushcrow (Ethiopia), Nyala (Ethiopia), Ceiba (Guatemala), Kasumi (Colombia), Bananaquit (Colombia) and Tonatiuh. Espresso: The Rexi Blend.
