Easy Coffee Roasters is one of the beloved local roasters we follow in Colorado: an independent roaster based in Durango. Here is what their own pages and public sources say about them, in our words.
Their story
Brice and Matt spent close to six years at 81301 Coffee House as general manager and roaster before buying the business in July 2022. Easy is the name the pair use to sell their roasts beyond southwest Colorado, while the coffee house keeps serving locals and visitors. Green coffee comes through Hacienda La Minita in Costa Rica, which buys from a close group of family farms, and the owners have visited the Costa Rica farms in person.
All roasting happens once a week inside 81301 Coffee House, so the cafe doubles as the roastery. The Easy Rider espresso, a mix of Guatemala, Brazil and Colombia, is the same blend pulled on the coffee bar, and the decaf is a Swiss Water Colombia. Single origins range from a honey processed Mexico from Veracruz to a triple wet hulled Sumatra from Lintong Nihuta.

Roast levels run light, medium, medium-dark and dark. House blends include Colorado Blend, Morning Stoke and Dark Side. Single origins on the list when we checked: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Mexico, Sumatra, Brazil and Colombia. Espresso: Easy Rider Espresso Blend. Decaf: Decaf (Swiss Water, Colombia). Why buying from Easy Coffee Roasters matters here
The site says its coffee is roasted at 6,512 feet in Durango, and the coffee house is named after the town's zip code. A collaboration called Blends with Friends paired the roastery with Little Bear Coffee Co. of Albuquerque on a shared release and shirt.
